Sweet Savings Sunday: Late, but Not Forgotten

Sorry about being "out" yesterday.  I've been doing food re-introduction with my son to "test the waters" when it comes to what foods cause his eczema and which ones are okay in small doses, etc (now that we've finally gotten his skin about 99.9% clear).  Oddly enough the first real "epic fail" was popcorn...a food that I'd been feeding him with, what I thought, was no problems because he's not ALLERGIC to corn by the prick test he took.  But, here we were, 4 hours to the second that he'd eaten the popcorn (and it was JUST popcorn made in a dedicated facility with finely pulverized kosher salt for popcorn salt and olive oil on it...that's IT) and red patches were breaking out over him, his skin was getting scaly and he was itching like mad.  So, I guess he has a sensitivity to corn after all.  So, yesterday it was the after-effects of a night with no sleep because he was itching all night and then trying to field a cranky toddler (while mom had a migraine from a thrown out back).  So, yeah, I didn't get much done yesterday.  But, here we are today and it's time to start figuring out shopping for the week again!  Here's some things that I found that are on sale and caught my interest.

First the big news is that according to the Amazon.com Facebook page, Amazon Prime's free shipping policies now also apply to Alaska, Hawaii and Puetro Rico!  So, way cool there :).

And here's some other items to get you started this week...

Apple Jacks Cereal, 12.2-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) is 9.98 with Subscribe and Save.  This is below my target price of 2.50 per box for cereal, so I figured I'd mention it for those interested :).

Special K Cereal, Protein Plus, 13.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) is 10.61 with Subscribe and Save.  This is the ONLY cereal I could find that you could eat on a gestational diabetic diet.  The net carbs for a 1 cup serving are really low, especially for cereal and it actually tastes really good.  At 10.61 for 4 boxes this is a really good price AND since the only place I could ever find the stuff was at Wal-Mart, I wanted to mention it to people who might not have a Wal-Mart near them.

Pop-Tarts, Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, 12-Count Tarts (Pack of 6) is 13.39 with Subscribe and Save.  That's 2.23 per box, which is cheap for the small boxes anymore, let alone the 12 ct.

Kettle Chips, Sea Salt, 2-Ounce Bags (Pack of 24) is 16.44 with Subscribe and Save (at .68 a bag that's cheap cheap CHEAP!)...great for lunches :).  The ONLY chips my son can eat, these suckers are made without canola oil (definitely a good thing).

This deal is still going on and it is STILL a great deal (considering one of the 15 oz containers goes for about 9.00 at Fred Meyer).

Nutiva Organic  Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 15-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 2) is 13.77 with Subscribe and Save, but use coupon code NUTIVJAN at checkout to pay 12.15 for 2 containers or 6.07 a piece.

Italica Extra Virgin Olive Oil Plus Vitamins A-D-E, 17-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) is 10.00 with Subscribe and Save.  For Vitamin enriched olive oil this is an EXCELLENT deal, and really even for olive oil this is a good deal!

Muir Glen Organic Tomato Sauce, 8-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) is 19.69 with Subscribe and Save.  That's .82 per can!  None too shabby!

Muir Glen Organic Tomato Sauce, 15-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12) is 13.46 with Subscribe and Save.

Walnut Acres Organic Juice, Harvest Apple with Calcium, 32-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4) is 12.74 with Subscribe and Save and is honestly one of the few juices that will ship up here.  It's calcium fortified too and Organic, so really it's NOT a bad price for organic apple juice :).

Stash Premium Chai Spice Black Tea, Tea Bags, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) is 10.10 with Subscribe and Save.  That breaks down to 1.68 per box of tea!

Stash Premium English Breakfast Black Tea, Tea Bags, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) is also 10.10 with Subscribe and Save.  For Breakfast Tea this is a really good price (can't tell the breakfast teas are my fave can you *laugh*).
And there you go folks.  The best deals I could dig up today!  Enjoy!
